I Searched For You In Heaven

Last night I dreamed I went to Heaven My time on earth was through. And as I admired God's glorious land I began to look for you. I knew that before I was called home, Your time had come to die. But as I searched in every mansion, In helplessness I asked Him "Why?" I began to remember how close we were When in this world we lived. But then I remembered that never once Did we talk about God's Gift. Then in an instant I was transferred To a place that was void of God. The screams and cries got louder and louder, The flames were high and hot. Then a voice said "You desired to see The friend that you once loved. He's down here with Satan where people go Who knew not the Lord above." Then I saw you walking through The flames that leapt so high, Picking up bodies by the head And looking them in the eyes. Someone said you were looking for The preachers who lied to you. Then I remembered how you went to church, At least a time or two. Then I went back to where J

When Our Faith Wavers

READ | James 1:1-8 The Bible warns against “wavering faith.” This is the attitude of someone who goes from feeling certain that God will answer a prayer to merely hoping that He might or becoming convinced He won’t. Of course, since we’re human, we all experience periods of doubt. But what Scripture warns against is a lifestyle of spiritual disbelief. Wavering can have many causes. For instance, one might fail to see God at work in a situation. Or he might worry that trusting Jesus in that predicament conflicts with human reasoning. Another believer, focusing on circumstances rather than the Lord, may allow feelings to overcome faith. A person, who is “driven and tossed by the wind”, may lose confidence in God and find his spiritual growth stunted. He can become a “double-minded man” because even as he prays, he tends to jump ahead of the Lord’s timing to manipulate a situation for his own desired outcome. When a Christian pays attention to his doubts in this way, he’ll often make cost

I Was There…

I was there on the day you were born, And I gave you special gifts to last a lifetime. I touched you, made you smile, helped you grow And watched you take your first steps. I even reassured you that everything would be okay When you lost your first tooth. I saw you off on your first day of school And I lingered by your side the whole day. I was there to console you everytime you cried, And I held you everytime you fell and scraped your knees. I was there everyday all through the years, And I always strived to give you direction. I helped you every step of the way into adulthood, Bringing you daily gifts of inspiration, hope and love And I gave you trials so you could grow Into the warm and beautiful person you are… But I never abandoned you to them. I’ve never, not for a single second Turned my back on you when you needed me--- Even when you thought that you didn’t need me. I heard you everytime you spoke and I answered every prayer--- Though sometimes, for your best interest, I didn’t

What Is The Unpardonable Sin?

READ | Matthew 12:22-32 No one today can commit the unpardonable sin. According to the Bible, the only action God will not pardon is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, committed by the Pharisees. The Jewish religious leaders were shown compelling evidence that Jesus was God's Son. But they chose to undermine Him in hopes of maintaining their own power. After witnessing Christ's miracles, the Pharisees blasphemed by claiming His supernatural power was from Satan. In Matthew 12:22-32, Jesus responds to their sin by warning that whoever spoke this way against the Holy Spirit wouldn't be forgiven. People today don't have the undeniable physical presence of Jesus Christ in the world. So they can't recreate the Pharisees' sinful event. But it's still possible to end up in an unpardonable state. This happens when a person rejects the Holy Spirit's call to salvation and holy living, and then dies in a condition of unbelief. The stages leading to an unpardonable

MIND

A negative thought came to my mind. He wore a charming smile And I was sorely tempted to invite him in awhile. And as I hesitated, He tapped softly on the door And whispered through the keyhole As he'd often done before. He said, "I'll help you hold your grudge, I'll help you sing the blues, It seems like all your folks and friends have turned their backs on you." He said, "You've been misunderstood, Mistreated and maligned. I'll help you cry your heart out If you'll let me come inside" But, I kept my windows fastened And my doors securely closed, For I knew I'd be the loser If I let him take control For negative thoughts can multiply And crowd the positives out And make the mind a cesspool Of anxiety and doubt. And so I told the negative thought I could not let him in. He went his way, but I am sure That he'll return again. But no more will I greet him With a welcome or a smile And never will I entertain him Even for awhile. I'll

Forgiveness

Image
It's really hard to forgive others who did us wrong especially if that person is one whom you consider as a friend. I used to have a neighbor who came and cleaned the house three times a week. She did some house chores like vacuuming, mopping, washing dishes, dusting, throwing out the trash and cleaning the bathroom. She worked for me for seven months and we became friends. She's the first Mexican woman who became my friend. Before she starts her work, we go out walking first for our exercise. While we were out walking, I asked her to take photos of me with the nice sceneries that we passed by with my digital camera. Everytime she make tortillas she gave us a bunch and she even showed me how to do it. In return I gave her lumpia and pancit whenever I cook. I also tried to witness to her about the Lord Jesus Christ and invited her to church with her 2 grandkids. After 5 months though, I noticed that some of my jewelries were missing. The diamond ring that my hubby gave me and th

The Bible And The TV Guide

They lie on the table side by side The Holy Bible and the T.V. Guide One is well worn and cherished with pride, Not the Bible, but the T.V. Guide One is used daily to help folks decide No, not the Bible, but the T.V.Guide As the pages are turned, what shall they see Oh, what does it matter, turn on the T.V. So they open the book in which they confide No, not the Bible, but the T.V. Guide The Word of God is seldom read Maybe a verse before they fall into bed. Exhausted and sleepy and tired as can be Not from reading the Bible, from watching T.V. so then back to the table side by side, Lie the Holy Bible and the T.V. Guide. No time for prayer, no time for the Word, The plan of Salvation is seldom heard. But forgiveness of sin, so full and free, Is found in the Bible, not on T.V.

You Can Be Forgiven

READ | 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 If you feel guilty about past sins, the Scriptures have a reassuring message for you. The Corinthian believers were struggling, too. And, in First Corinthians 6:11, Paul offered to them-and us-this counsel and hope: "Such [sinners] were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God." In the verses preceding these encouraging words, Paul lists some disgraceful lifestyles that continue today. Every week, pastors hear from people who ask whether the Lord can forgive them for adultery, abuse of family members, a homosexual lifestyle or other offenses. The answer is yes. He can and will forgive every sin, just as 1 John 1:9 says. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Until believers understand how the Lord forgives and removes sin, they'll carry guilt. Prom

How To Honor Our Mother

READ | Leviticus 19:3 The Bible says everyone is to honor his or her mother, and God is pleased when we take practical measures to fulfill this command. Children of all ages should Love their Mother unconditionally. We are to care for Mom no matter how she carries out her maternal responsibilities. Some women will do better than others at living up to their God-given role. But all children are called to love their mother simply because the Lord has placed her in their lives. So, be attentive to Mom’s needs. Starting in infancy, kids are accustomed to taking from their parents. So it can be easy to forget Mom and Dad have needs too. Stop and consider what your mother might appreciate. For example, household help offered cheerfully is usually welcome. As Mom grows older, she may need assistance for her physical or emotional well-being. Some women desire only that their children express gratitude or care. Live righteously. Proverbs 23 says the greatest gift we can give a godly mother is t

Three Bullets

*With God all things are possible*-Matthew 19:26 There once was a man who had nothing for his family to eat. He had an old rifle and three bullets. So, he decided that he would go out hunting and kill some wild game for dinner. As he went down the road, he saw a rabbit. He shot at the rabbit and missed it. The rabbit ran away. Then he saw a squirrel and fired a shot at the squirrel but missed it. The squirrel disappeared into a hole in a cottonwood tree. As he went further, he saw a large wild "Tom" turkey in the tree, but he had only one bullet remaining. A voice spoke to him and said, "Pray first, aim high, and stay focused. However, at the same time, he saw a deer which was a better kill. He brought the gun down and aimed at the deer. But, then he saw a rattlesnake between his legs about to bite him, so he naturally brought the gun down further to shoot the rattlesnake. Still, the voice said again to him, "I said, 'Pray, Aim high, and Stay focused."

YOU ASK WHY I FOLLOW THIS JESUS?

Image
You ask why I follow this Jesus? Why I love Him the way I do? When the world's turned away from His teachings And the people who serve Him are few. It's not the rewards I'm after Or gifts that I hope to receive It's the Presence that calls for commitment It's the Spirit I trust and believe. The Lord doesn't shelter His faithful Or spare them all suffering and pain, Like everyone else I have burdens, And walk through my share of rain. Yet He gives me a plan and a purpose, And that joy only Christians have known, I never know what comes tomorrow, But I do know I'm never alone. It's the love always there when you need it; It's the words that redeem and inspire, It's the longing to ever be with Him That burns in my heart like a fire. So you ask why I love my Lord Jesus? Well, friend, that's so easy to see, But the one thing that fills me with wonder is Why Jesus loves someone like me.
