Precious Words

I woke up this morning and knew that today, The sun would not be shining and the clouds would be gray. As I stepped outside, rain fell upon my head. My car wouldn't start so I walked to school instead. I forgot all of my assignments I failed all of my tests. I dropped my head in disgust and asked the Lord for one request. 'Lord, why is it that things won't go my way?' He gently replied, 'Dear child; it is because you didn't thank me yesterday. I woke you up and enabled you to see the sun again. I gave you shelter, protected your family, and even let you make a new friend. I blessed you far greater than I ever had before. But you were too busy to thank me once more. You didn't feel sick because I maintained your health. You had money in your pocket because I maintained your wealth. You had shoes on you feet and clothes to wear, too. You had plenty of food to eat, and what did you do? You ignored me and went about your tasks. But when you wanted something you ...

At times I'm so discouraged with problems of the day I fail to see the joyful things that are along the way When troubles overwhelm me It's then my nerves may fray that's when I need to take the time To simply sit and pray Reflecting on God's many the gifts It makes me so aware Of all the joy in little things around me everywhere! I must try to remember though problems come my way not to miss the joyful things and the beauty of the day.

Last night I dreamed I went to Heaven My time on earth was through. And as I admired God's glorious land I began to look for you. I knew that before I was called home, Your time had come to die. Guide One is used daily to help folks decide No, not the Bible, but the T.V.Guide As the pages are turned, what shall they see Oh, what does it matter, turn on the T.V. So they open the book in which they confide No, not the Bible, but the T.V. Guide The Word of God is seldom read Maybe a verse before they fall into bed. Exhausted and sleepy and tired as can be Not from reading the Bible, from watching T.V. so then back to the table side by side, Lie the Holy Bible and the T.V. Guide. No time for prayer, no time for the Word, The plan of Salvation is seldom heard. But forgiveness of sin, so full and free, Is found in the Bible, not on T.V.

You ask why I follow this Jesus? Why I love Him the way I do? When the world's turned away from His teachings And the people who serve Him are few. It's not the rewards I'm after Or gifts that I hope to receive It's the Presence that calls for commitment It's the Spirit I trust and believe. The Lord doesn't shelter His faithful Or spare them all suffering and pain, Like everyone else I have burdens, And walk through my share of rain. Yet He gives me a plan and a purpose, And that joy only Christians have known, I never know what comes tomorrow, But I do know I'm never alone. It's the love always there when you need it; It's the words that redeem and inspire, It's the longing to ever be with Him That burns in my heart like a fire. So you ask why I love my Lord Jesus? Well, friend, that's so easy to see, But the one thing that fills me with wonder is Why Jesus loves someone like me.

He is the First and Last, the Beginning and the End! He is the keeper of Creation and the Creator of all! He is the Architect of the universe and The Manager of all times. He always was, He always is, and He always will be... Unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never Undone! He was bruised and brought healing! He was pierced and eased pain! He was persecuted and brought freedom! He was dead and brought life! He is risen and brings power! He reigns and brings Peace! The world can't understand him, The armies can't defeat Him, The schools can't explain Him, The leaders can't ignore Him. Herod couldn't kill Him, The Pharisees couldn't confuse Him, and The people couldn't hold Him! Nero couldn't crush Him, Hitler couldn't silence Him, The New Age can't replace Him, and Donahue can't explain Him away! He is light, love, longevity, and Lord. He is goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, and God. He is Holy, Righteous, mighty, powerful, and pure. His ways a...

A stone rolled in place, On a cold clamey day, A dark day in one's life A dark cold darkness It seemed no one cared But then in a split second The stone was rolled away Stood there in a bright glowing figure A shout went out loud and clear He lives, He lives Jesus Christ lives Fore He touched me today, now I live The stone rolled from my life He gave me life the day the stone was rolled away.
