Marygen's Testimony

Image
We had a great service last Sunday. Though there were some members who were absent, we felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. As usual, we started the service with opening prayer followed with congregational singing of hymns and praise songs. After that, we had the testimony time. One young mom stood up and shared her testimony. Her name is Marygen. She's been attending our church since February and was baptized in water last May. The past few weeks, she haven't been attending church because her husband had to go to the field to plant rice and she had to take care of her son. Then one day she had colds and that started both of her hears can't hear. She became literally deaf and can't hear anything. She said day and night she was praying to the Lord, crying out her heart to God. She asked forgiveness from the Lord for not going to church for 4 Sundays. She believed that God chastised her for not going to church. She promised that if the Lord will restore her sense of h...

Answered Prayers

Image
I am writing this to share to everybody how the good Lord had answered our prayers in His perfect time. My hubby and I had plans to go back to the Philippines and live there. God had also impressed on our hearts to start a ministry there for the Lord. But we can't just go there right away. I have to wait for my US citizenship to be done, we have to sell our house and also wait for the payment from Cheasepeak company for our land with gas in Alvarado. My hubby had put the For Sale sign in front of our house more than a year ago. At that time I haven't filed for my US citizenship yet. There were lots of people who called and came and look at our house. Most of them were interested to buy it but they backed off when we told them we wanted cash for the payment. They can't get a loan from the bank. Then I filed for my US citizenship and it really took a while to wait for it. It was a long process. Still there were number of people who came and look at our house but no bite yet. ...

My Personal Testimony (Part II)

Image
I can say that my life is very colorful, full of drama, joys and trials. Sometimes just thinking of making my life story open to others who barely know me make me feel uneasy but I am doing this just to show how the good Lord has worked in my life and that everything that happened in my life, God had a reason. You have read in my previous post how a very big trial has hit me and just more than a year after, another big trial befell me. I had a boyfriend whom I loved so much and he was very loving and affectionate to me. He had been with me when I was in my lowest moments in my life. He had seen what I’ve been through when I was battling the cancer and he had accompanied me during my chemotherapy for 4 consecutive months. During those times that I thought I was going to die, he didn’t leave me. He stayed by my side. I was even ashamed to face him at that time because I looked so ugly, no hair because of the chemo and I was so thin and dark. I didn’t want to face him at first but he ...

Jesus Christ Is My Healer (My Personal Testimony Part I)

Image
Here is one chapter in my life that will always stay fresh in my mind. Sometimes I don’t want to think about it because it brings back a tremendous feeling in me but the Holy Spirit has been leading me to share it here in my blog. This experience in my life is a living proof that God is still the same yesterday, today and forever and miracles happen when we pray. I’m not telling this to glorify myself or anybody but to glorify the name of Jesus, my Healer. It was September 1995 when I felt a lump in my left breast while I was taking a bath. I got worried but I can’t go to the doctor at that time because I had no money, no job and my grandmother who had been supporting us from her pension just passed away. My sister Violy was the sole bread-winner at that time and life was not that easy. I am a college graduate but it's not easy to get a job in the Philippines. I tried my best to look for one and I applied in different offices but no luck. Then after a few months of searching an...

Angels

Image
THIS STORY IS BASED FROM MY TRUE EXPERIENCE. The question some may ask, are Angels real? The answer is yes they do exist, I know by experience. When I was about 6 years old my father had an old footlocker in the garage. He told all of us kids to stay out. Well, I am the type of person if someone tells me not or I can"t do something I will do it or die. I went out in the garage climbed into that footlocker and the lid shut and locked with me in side. I screamed and yelled but no one could hear me. I was soon crying and so scared that I may die there inside and no one will know where I was. I was inside that footlocker, locked in for how long I don"t know but it seemed like eternity. Then the lid opened and it was just like when your mother would pick you up when you were hurt. It was that way then but no one that I could see was there. It was my gurdian angel watching over me that day, the one the good Lord had sent. From that day on I have believed in angels. I think some tim...

I Got Saved!!!

Image
Did you ever marvel of how great and awesome our God is? Everyday of my life I can’t thank Him enough for all the things that He has done and all the things He’s going to do in my life. As I look back in the past, I remember my life before I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I had big dreams, like I wanted to finish my studies, find a good job to help my family and also get married and have a family of my own. I also wanted to get rich, have a nice house and travel abroad. My parents have no riches to give us except our education. My mom passed away before I graduated in high school and my dad had no stable job but I thank God that we had a grandma who was so loving, generous and willing to support my education and also my siblings. I can say that I did good in my studies because from elementary up to my high school years I was a consistent honor student. I wanted to prove something that even though I came from a poor family, I can be recognized in the school because of...

The Grace of God Saved Me

Image
Only by the grace of God saved me. BEFORE I KNEW THE LORD I WAS AN ALCOHOLIC. I was drinking anywhere from 1 to 2 cases of beer a day. The beer was taking over my life. I had a business, a used car lot, an automotive shop, and a wrecking yard selling used parts. I was making good money doing this, but I started drinking heavy and pretty soon everything started going down hill. My business started to go under. My marriage was falling apart. I was on the verge of suicide. To make a long story short I was as low as I could get. Then on the third Thursday of October 1986, something wonderful happened. I was saved by the grace of God. I asked the Lord God to forgive me of my sins and wrong doings. Jesus came into my life and took away the desire of the alcohol. Since that day I have not touched beer since. The Lord put my marriage back together, my first wife and I was married for 27 years until the Lord called her home in Feb. 1996. The Lord called me to preach in May of 1987. I ...
