A Day Of Worship With The Family

Image
We had our worship service in our carport last Sunday and my siblings with their families were all present. My brother Albin had finished installing the electric outlets and switch. My sister Violy had asked her maid to put some curtains to make the carport presentable for our worship service. Albin was the song leader and my brother-in-law played the organ. My hubby gave the message and it was really great serving and worshiping the Lord. After our service, we all ate together our lunch in our carport. We had a potluck. my brother Albin as the song leader

Our Ministry

Image
We've been here in the Philippines for more than a month already. I've been so glad to see my family whom I missed so much while I was in the US. It's so good to be home after more than 5 years of living in a foreign land. Texas became my homeland for the past five years and I learned to love the place and the people there. When hubby and I left our home in Wichita Falls I can't help myself but cry. It's been my home for 4 years and there were many memories there. But we have to do what the good Lord wants us to do and that is to go back in the Philippines and do missionary works. We've been praying about this for many months and the Lord had given us the means to go back to the Philippines. Hubby had to quit his job and left his family, friends and loved ones there. I know it's a sacrifice on his part but it's nothing compared to what Jesus Christ had done for us. He gave His life so we could be saved from our sins. We've been having our services in...

The Pastor And His Son

Image
Every Sunday afternoon, after the morning service at the church, the Pastor and his eleven year old son would go out into their town and hand out Gospel Tracts. This particular Sunday afternoon, as it came time for the Pastor and his son to go to the streets with their tracts, it was very cold outside, as well as pouring down rain. The boy bundled up in his warmest and driest clothes and said, "OK, dad, I'm ready." His Pastor dad asked, "Ready for what?" "Dad, it's time we gather our tracts together and go out."...

The Power Of Prayer

Image
My hubby requested to our pastor that he would like to preach in our church before we leave Texas for the Philippines. So my hubby got to preach Wednesday night. His message was about PRAYER. Before he started his message, he told the congregation how the good Lord has answered our prayers. For many months, we've been praying to the good Lord that we can sell our house and give us the means so we can go back to the Philippines. My hubby even set a goal that he would like to go to the Philippines by the end of this year. I told him it's impossible because it's not easy to sell a house these days. It was already October and still we didn't have a buyer. But then, we kept on praying and believing that God will answer our prayers in His time and He did. God sent us a buyer of our house on the 1st week of November. Now we're getting ready to go back to the Philippines. It's really amazing how the good Lord answers prayers. If you pray, believe that you will receive i...

Requirements for Answered Prayer

Image
READ | John 14:12-14 Jesus taught many things about prayer and its central role in a believer’s life. He also promised that our petitions will be answered when we meet certain requirements. One condition is mentioned in John 14:14: after receiving Christ as our personal Savior, we have the right to present requests in Jesus’ name, which means praying something that the Lord Himself might pray. Whenever we exercise this privilege, we must come to the Father, depending not on our own good works or character but on the merits of Christ alone. Jesus’ atoning death on the cross is the only basis for approaching God and being assured of receiving an answer to our petitions. A second requirement is separation from all known sin. Psalm 66:18 says, “If I regard wickedness in my heart, the Lord will not hear.” This refers to ungodly behaviors and thought patterns which we know are wrong but refuse to give up. Remember, God looks at our heart attitude. If we struggle against our sinful ways, gri...

Answered Prayers

Image
I am writing this to share to everybody how the good Lord had answered our prayers in His perfect time. My hubby and I had plans to go back to the Philippines and live there. God had also impressed on our hearts to start a ministry there for the Lord. But we can't just go there right away. I have to wait for my US citizenship to be done, we have to sell our house and also wait for the payment from Cheasepeak company for our land with gas in Alvarado. My hubby had put the For Sale sign in front of our house more than a year ago. At that time I haven't filed for my US citizenship yet. There were lots of people who called and came and look at our house. Most of them were interested to buy it but they backed off when we told them we wanted cash for the payment. They can't get a loan from the bank. Then I filed for my US citizenship and it really took a while to wait for it. It was a long process. Still there were number of people who came and look at our house but no bite yet. ...
